It is really coming down here in my area of Idaho. That is snow, snow and more snow. Weather dudes here sezz it'll be better this weekend but what the heck do they really know? Tuesday was a great morning after a month of having my son here at the Rode House he is undergoing some heavy duty mind treatments to be better than what I saw here. Cabin fever is a bit more than what I had anticipated and at least Tuesday I was able to truck over to Rupert and look over operations there. The roads were pretty good going over and coming back in fact it was not until I hit the outskirts of Pocatello that the roads tuned ugly and slick again. Could it be that not only are most of the folks in the Pocatello area cold but that the weather just stays crappy here? Who knows, but again it snows. Went out to Pocky's Denny's for breakfast and albeit it was nice to see the town and streets all to myself, as it looked like one of those shots you see on TV of the Ghost Town, seemed as though not only did they roll up the sidewalk but the whole blooming town to go with it. If only I would have rolled out to Daytona as I planned a few weeks ago Icould be enjoying albeit rainy but hotter outside weather than here. Its amazing what happens during Speed Weeks at Daytona this time of year. The cabin fever here is so bad that I'm having withdrawls of not getting any serious action of the female type. So bad that a poodle looked good the other day. I'm talking a two legged Poodle so don't get to thinking that I have resulted in asaulting critters. Talks are still going on here about us snagging KPIF TV 15 of Pocatello but the powers that be now want to talk to the real owners of the station not just Brian and I so we see what leaves shake off that tree. Have not done my other TV show on local access channel for two weeks but looking to get back to that come Monday. That all said, when it comes to the Rode Knytes Association there is a big observation as to just what the Rode Knytes Association is and to what it really is not. The Rode Knytes Association is nothing more and certainly not less than the grouping of those who love old and vintage as well as custom tow trucks. We as we concieved the organization not a big rig truckers organization. We are all towing people not long haul truckers but since much of what effects long haul trucking effects us in towing we keep our thumbs on the pulse of both industries. Most of the Rode Knytes Association are members in good standing or associate members of the Owner Operator Independent Drivers Association or OOIDA. Which is the best as far as we are concerned in representing Americas long haul truckers. But what the OOIDA does not do is represent the interests of the towing industry very well if at all. Now there is a supposedly national towing organization called the Towing and Recovery Association of America or TRAA, however their views are more to the east coast and of the bigger larger metro city area fleets. The lonely 6 or less number of trucks to just an independent toing professional in a small rural town like me here in Hazzard or such is just not their biggest concern. Which is the who that the Rode Knytes Association represents. The small fleet back country towing professional. When the concept of putting together a truckers TV show came we thought we as members of the Rode Knytes had hit pay dirt. But that glitter just turned out to being little more than glass fragments in that dirt. What we are looking at doing is putting together something we will simply call towing TV. More about that next time. But to sooth my cabin fever I'm going to take a nap.
